Exploring Denver: El Five

El Five is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver! It’s located above LoHi on the fifth floor of 2930 Umatilla. The restaurant is dark with clean, modern lines and minimal decoration. The walls are covered with Middle Eastern vintage movie posters with loose “tapas de Gibraltar” food descriptions and hexagon mirrors. It boasts breath-taking, unobstructed city views of the downtown Denver skyline and a wide frame of sprawling highlands for an incredible sunset view. The design of this restaurant is almost too cool for Denver. It looks like it belongs in New York City. ⠀ ⠀

Culinary director Jeremy Kittelson delivers a dinner menu of Pan-Mediterranean tapas that travels with confidence from the patatas bravas of Spain to Israeli-style spiced lamb ribs.⠀ ⠀

Some of my favorites on the menu are: ⠀

- Crispy cauliflower yufka⠀

- Matzo ball soup dumplings⠀

- Patatas bravas⠀

- Shrimp & calamari a la plancha⠀

- Seafood paella⠀ ⠀

P.S. Be sure to make a reservation. They tend to book up fast!⠀
